Lenses to see how is matter distributed in the universe

An international research team led by Elizabeth Gonzalez of the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Astronomy (IATE) analysed how matter is distributed in galaxy clusters, using an effect called 'gravitational lensing'.

Posdoctoral position in Numerical Simulations of Galaxy Formation

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral fellowship in Numerical Simulations of Galaxy Formation at the the Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Astronomy (IATE), Córdoba, Argentina. This is a two-year position sponsored by a grant "Computational Astronomy" from CONICET (Argentina National Scientific and Technical Research Council) with a flexible starting date in 2020. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Mario Abadi. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Astronomy (or related field) or expected to obtain their Ph.D. in the near future. IATE has a dozen senior researchers working on galaxy formation, large scale structure of the universe, planetary systems and astrophysical plasmas.
