Abstract: This talk will provide a general introduction to Rubin Observatory for scientists and students, with a focus on jargon and basic concepts. We will touch briefly on the science pillars, observatory design, survey strategy, data process and data products, data access via the Rubin Science Platform and alert brokers, community engagement, and the LSST Science Collaborations.
