FACUNDO RODRÍGUEZ RECEIVES THE ANCEFN PREMIO ESTÍMULO 2025

The Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Astronomy (IATE, CONICET–UNC) is pleased to announce that Dr Facundo Rodríguez, a CONICET researcher affiliated with IATE, has been honoured with one of the Premios Estímulo granted by the National Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (ANCEFN) in the 2025 edition. The ceremony took place at the Pizzurno Palace and was presided over by ANCEFN’s president, Dr Alicia Dickenstein.

The Premio Estímulo recognises researchers aged up to 40 who have developed an outstanding track record in scientific research within the country. In this edition, the juries awarded young scientists in several fields; Facundo Rodríguez was selected in the Astronomy category for his work in observational and computational cosmology.

Dr Rodríguez’s work focuses on exploring the relationship between galaxies and the dark matter haloes that host them, combining observational analyses with numerical simulations. His contributions help to improve our understanding of how galaxy formation and evolution are linked to the distribution of matter in the Universe—an essential topic for advancing cosmological models and for interpreting large astronomical surveys.

At IATE, we celebrate this recognition, which highlights the quality and impact of the research carried out at our institute. The award not only acknowledges Dr Rodríguez’s individual trajectory but also underscores the collaborative work among research groups and IATE’s role in topics related to cosmology and the large-scale structure of the Universe.
