The Argentine Computational Astronomy Conference (JACA) took place virtually on November 29 and 30. It was organized by the Instituto de Astronomía Teórica y Experimental (IATE) under the coordination of Mario Abadi, Cinthia Ragone, Valeria Coenda, Dante Paz and Mariana Cécere, who do research at IATE and carry out teaching tasks at the Observatorio Astronómico de Córdoba (OAC).
The sessions were proposed as a space for the Argentine astronomical community to exchange information about available resources, challenges, limitations and current projects in different regions of the country, involving the presence of more than a hundred participants from different institutions such as: Instituto de Astronomía y Física del Espacio IAFE (CONICET-UBA), Instituto de Ciencias Astronómicas de la Tierra y del Espacio (CONICET-UNSJ), Instituto de Astrofísica de La Plata (CONICET-UNLP), Complejo Astronómico El Leoncito, International Center for Advanced Studies (UNSAM), Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales (UNSJ) and the Centro de Computación de Alto Desempeño (UNC).
Both, the presented contributions and the discussion instances, allowed a fluid exchange among those who participated. The sessions provided an overview of the computational resources available and, in addition, they concluded successfully with a great agreement about jointly advancing in different actions that allow the development of computational astronomy in our country.
