Abstract: For those who do not belong to the area of astrophysical plasmas, in this seminar I will tell you about two coronal scenarios that we have studied and modelled numerically in our recent work. They are: understanding the origin of certain dark structures that are observed to descend through the corona at low frequencies, and which are known as supra-arcade dowflows; and on the other hand, I will tell you about the numerical modelling of oscillations of quiescent filaments. At the end I will talk briefly about future prospects.
